Key Factors

This whole thing started from the realization that we needed help and didn’t know where to find it. It was Spring 2003 and it was clear that we needed to grow revenue, desperately. As in one of those grow or die situations. So the journey began to discover how best to revamp an entire sales and marketing effort that had only barely held itself above the waterline. Not up, not down - stinkin’ flat.

There are three main reasons for our success:

  1. we had a desire to do better and were open-minded enough to know we didn’t have the answers;
  2. we had a great network of mentors who had a wealth of experience and an eagerness to pass it on to willing pupils;
  3. we had the knowledge needed to build processes and systems as the foundation for a launch.

Just having any two of these is not enough. All three are mandatory and interdependent. However, they are not all three in ready abundance or availability. Salesmology is all about #2 and #3. You have to bring the first, arguably most important factor, of willingness to learn & improve and eagerness to take action.

Embark and succeed or stand still and wither.
