If you want to drive behavior in your team to achieve a particular result, the measurement system being used to record those results must be precisely designed to display progress toward solely that goal. Don’t complicate things by including more information than is absolutely necessary. Clutter creates confusion and lack of focus.

- Display results as frequently as possible;

Allowing your team to know where to go, how to get there then showing where they are is the same as planning a trip and using a map and the vehicle’s gauges to determine direction, how far and how fast.
